Hey friends,
Sorry I've been MIA... life in the Graf Household has been a little hectic! Plus the fact that I am utterly exhausted when I get home that it takes every ounce of strength to stay away until my bedtime! Other than that, life has been good. The baby is growing and I am still going in every 4 weeks. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and Jackson is kicking me like crazy!! Just last week, Phil even got to feel him for the first time! Yeah! Every time I try and get Makayla to feel him though, he stops! Little stinker!! Haha! I have my next appointment the day before Thanksgiving, so I will give you more details then! Hope you all have a great week!Comments:Add a comment:

Well.... IT'S A BOY!!!! Yeah!!! We are so excited!! His name will be Jackson Philip Graf! Makayla is VERY excited, even though she has been saying she wants a baby sister... she started running around in circles yelling, "It's a boy, it's a boy, it's a boy!!!" So adorable!! She keeps talking about him too and using his name, it is just so sweet! We are just very blessed to feel like our family is complete! Thank you for all your well wished and prayers!

Ok people, we have 4 more days until we find out the gender of this baby... I am DYING over here!! Makayla is bound and determined that it is a girl, but I have been trying to tell her it might be a boy, but she doesn't want to hear any of that! Haha! I think she will be happy either way, but I'm still crossing my fingers! I have started to feel the baby move and it is just leaves me breathless. The movements don't last very long, but I will just get this little popping feeling and it just makes this all the more real. I know it sounds strange to hear it feels like popping, but it does! It almost feels like my stomach is a microwave and I am popping popcorn in there! Haha! I can't wait for the big movements that we can actually see, that will blow Makayla away!! She has been so incredibly sweet and very attentive and wants to know what the baby is doing and she even talks to the baby! "Hello baby, what are you doing in there? It's me, Makayla!" It just brings tears to my eyes listening to her! Ok, well before I start getting emotional again, I will wrap this up! I will let you all know the big news this weekend!

So this past Thurs. I had a prenatal appointment and I brought Makayla with me. We were both excited to get to hear the baby's heartbeat! So we left school early (the Dr.'s office is literally 3 min. from my school) and got the the office and checked in. We were 15 min. early, but they called me back pretty much right away! So Makayla and I are sitting in the room and time starts to pass, and I am desperately trying to entertain a 3 yr. old with no toys at hand! We drew some pictures and practiced her letter "B" words, but after about 35 min. she started to get VERY restless! She finally sat in my lap with her head on my shoulder and I knew she was getting tired of waiting, but after a full 45 min. of waiting, the Dr. finally came in! She had on her scrubs so I figured she had an emergency delivery earlier in the day that probably caused her whole schedule to get off, but no explanation was given for the delay. Oh well. But she started talking to Makayla and asked her to be her "Assistant" and put some gloves on her and told her to tell me what to do. So Makayla had me lay on the table and put my head on the pillow! Haha! It was so cute! Then she had her stand next to the table and they got the Doppler out to hear the heartbeat. After a minute or two they couldn't find anything and I started to panic, but the Dr. told me their machine had been acting up and it was broken. She said they would have to do an ultrasound, so I would get a free pic that day! Whohoo! So they started to ultrasound and when Makayla saw that baby on the screen, her little eyes just lit up and she said, "Wow Mommy, look at it moving!!!" It just melted my heart to see her so excited about it! The Dr. seemed rushed and the picture we got was not very clear at all, so that was a bummer! But our next appointment will be Oct. 9th and we will then learn the baby's gender!! SO EXCITED!!! So everything is looking good and the baby is growing stronger and bigger every day! We have been looking up baby names and think we may have it narrowed down... that was a BIG accomplishment! Just a week ago we had absolutely no names in mind what so ever!
So that's what has been going on in our little world this week! Hope you all had a great weekend!Comments:Add a comment:

Hello friends! Well, we had our first prenatal appointment for the baby this past week and it was great! I am 10 weeks, almost 11 and the baby's measurements look on track! We got a cute ultrasound picture, which you can see on the left! Just a little bean for now! My official due date is March 9, 2010, but the Dr. said she will perform a c-section 7-10 days before that date. So we are looking at the very beginning of March! Of course Phil is begging for Mar. 2nd, he thinks having our baby born on Texas Independence Day would be the coolest thing ever. Sigh, history majors... But we are very excited and Makayla can't wait to be a Big Sister!

Dear Family & Friends,
I do not have a face to see,
Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
I don't yet have a name.
Not yet can you hold my tiny hands,
Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.
But all that will change come this March;
When they say I am due.
I am the newest Graf baby;
And I can't wait until I meet you!
All I ask between now and then
Is your love for me to grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait;
Just think of all the joy we'll know!
So as you're waiting patiently,
Please pray lots of prayers for me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family!
Well friends, we are obviously thrilled to announce that we are pregnant! I have not yet been to the Dr. since I am a little over 7 weeks now and they usually don't see you until you are at least 8 weeks. Makayla is VERY excited about being a big sister and keeps kissing my belly! She is always asking about the baby, it's so cute! The only bad thing is that I am extremely nauseous. I was never like this with Makayla, so this is a new experience. I am on some medicine, but it hasn't helped to much. I don't even feel like eating most of the time, but I have to for the baby, so it's just a constant battle. Other than that, things are going pretty well! We are even more excited about this because 2 of our neighbors are pregnant as well as my best friend!! So I finally get to be pregnant with someone for a change! Haha! Alright, well I just wanted to share our good news! Hope you all have a great week!Comments:Rich/Bev Lanois: Congradulations on your pregnancy.Love your Web page,best of luck with the new baby.

Howdy friends! How is your summer going? Here in Houston, it is a horrible heat wave with pretty much no rain in 2 months!!! Temps have been in the upper 90's to 102 with heat indexes upwards of 108!!! It is horrible! There is no way I am taking Makayla out in this, so we have short windows when I can take her out. Usually first thing in the morning or early evening. It's a pain and I wish we could have a nice drenching rain to cool things down. Yesterday, we did have a very brief storm go through, but it only dropped maybe an 1" of rain.. not enough to do anything. Ok, enough weather talk!
One thing we are getting excited for is our big trip to San Antonio!! We leave next week and will be gone 3 days. Makayla doesn't know what Sea World is, so we are SO excited to take her and show her all the animals! I think I have mentioned that she is very into sea animals and anything ocean related right now, so this will be especially fun for her! This is just the second trip we have ever taken with Makayla by ourselves without our parents being there, so this should be interesting. We are planning on maybe taking her to the Alamo and maybe down to the Riverwalk. We'll see how it goes. One thing I am especially excited about is that Sea World is offering this great deal where you buy a regular one day ticket and get what's called a FunCard. It lets you come back as many times and you want for FREE for the rest of the season!! (Until Dec. 31!) How cool is that?! So if we miss anything this trip, we can just go back whenever we want!! That will be especially nice when we have a 3 day weekend or for Thanksgiving/Christmas break and I need to entertain her! I will definitely post pics and video when we get back!
I have included some pics and video from our visit to the Aquarium this past weekend. We all got to pet stingrays!! It was AWESOME!! They are so soft!! We also got to see tigers and a huge snake! Makayla had a ball, but when we went outside to ride the train and ferris wheel, that was about all we could handle with the heat and went home shortly after that.
I will write when we get back from San Antonio and tell you all about our adventures!Comments:Add a comment:

Hey friends! Well, it is officially SUMMER!! Whohoo!! Makayla and I have definitely been enjoying the time off! I am teaching a summer school course and Makayla gets to go to her old class for just a couple of hours a day. I think she likes it so far! But everyday when I pick her up, she asks if we can go swimming! Ha! I know where her priorities lie!!
Other than that, nothing much is new! We are planning a trip to Sea World since Makayla is all about Sea Life right now! She can tell you the difference between most sharks, some turtles and some dolphins! It is really funny to hear her rattle off all the different ones! I will try and get that on video and upload that one of these days!
Well, we need to be getting out the door for school, but I will write more later and definitely put up some more pics! Have a great day!Comments:Donna J.: Love the photo of Mom and daughter. It's the best.
Have a fund Summer. We hope to see you soon.Karen: What a great picture of you both. I know Makayla is enjoying the pool because I'm hearing all about it. She is at such a fun age.Add a comment:

Well Chris and Jen are now married! Yeah!! We went down to Galveston last weekend and Makayla very much enjoyed being a flower girl! We also had the chance to take her to the Moody Garden Aquarium, where she got to see sharks, sting rays, sea lions, penguins, fish, sea urchins, star fish and sea turtles! She was in heaven!! She is really into Ocean stuff right now and loves to hear about sharks! This summer we are planning a trip to Sea World, and we know she will be so excited!
Other than that, we are just trying to get through these last couple of weeks of school! It seems so strange that it is already the end of another year! I will post more after school gets out, but for now, go enjoy the pics from the wedding weekend!Comments:Gwen: We had such a good time last weekend! Noel, Karina and Brian decided to take Evan out in the waves. I think they had a blast. We hope to see you guys soon. Love yu, Gwen

Happy Easter everyone! We had a great weekend! We went to Bellville on Saturday and spent the day with the Graf side of the family and had a blast! Makayla really enjoyed seeing all her cousins and getting the hunt eggs with them! We spent Sunday with my family and had another egg hunt after lunch. So Makayla had a very eventful weekend! I am also including a photo album so go check out those pics when you have the chance! Hope everyone has a great week!
