What a month!! School was officially over at the very end of May, then I had a week off, but then had to start teaching my summer school classes! Makayla has been enjoying her summer so far! She has been in the swimming pool several times, and went to the zoo with her cousin Noah! Don't worry, I will be uploading those pictures this weekend! My summer school ends this Friday and you know what that means.... POTTY TRAINING TIME! Whohoo!! Makayla is SO ready! We can't wait to get started! She is talking more and more everyday and we have real conversations with her, it is so awesome! I can ask her stuff and she responds and she will ask Phil and I stuff, it is just a really neat time! She is so smart too! She knows all of her alphabet, but she has known that for many many months now, and she knows how to count to 10 and she knows some of her shapes and some colors. We are still working on those last two. But her cognitive thinking is amazing! She is such a problem solver! For instance, sometimes she likes to lie down on the floor in her room and pretend to sleep. (She makes snoring noises and everything! Ha!) But she knew we always cover her with a blanket. (Which was in her crib.) The blanket was too thick and big to fit through the bars so she holds it with one hand and reaches her other hand over the top of the bar and hands off the blanket to the other hand and gets the blanket right out!! Phil and I just looked at each other in amazement! We didn't even have to show her!! She is also getting into the "Why?" stage! Yeah, that's fun let me tell you! The other day I finally had to resort to the 'ol, "Cause Mommy said so" phrase! Oh well, it's not that bad! She is getting to be such a big girl and do things on her own. She has tea parties for her dolls and animals and likes to set the table! She will actually put a plate and cup at each place setting! So cute!
Well, I will wrap this up for now! I will write more again later and post those pictures up soon! Have a great day!!!Comments:Add a comment:
